BAHÍA DE BIZKAIA ELECTRICITY

Bahía de Bizkaia Electricidad is a combined cycle electric power plant located beside the Bahía de Bizkaia Gas regasification terminal, in the Outer Area of the Port of Bilbao (Punta Lucero, Zierbena).

The plant has a power output of 800 MW and its main fuel will be the natural gas supplied by Bahía de Bizkaia Gas.

The electricity generated in the combined cycle plant is fedding into the grid for domestic, commercial and industrial use.

The investment for Bahía de Bizkaia Electricidad amounts to € 336 million and by means of a turnkey contract its construction has been awarded to the industrial consortium formed by Babcock & Wilcox, Abengoa and Idom.
